Independent Poll Shows Mauro with double digit lead in SOS race
Des Moines, IA –
A poll conducted for KCCI-TV in Des Moines shows Polk County Auditor
Michael A. Mauro holding a double digit lead over his Republican
opponent in the Secretary of State race.
The poll was conducted by Research 2000 on September 11th and 12th.
The poll sampled 600 likely voters, and showed that Mauro leads Mary
Ann Hanusa, a former Bush administration employee by a margin of 43%
to 31%, with 26% undecided.
According to the poll, Mauro holds an eighteen-point lead among
independents, leading 46% to 28%.
The poll asked the following question: “If the election for
Secretary State were held today, would you vote for Michael Mauro,
the Democrat, and Mary Ann Hanusa, the Republican?”
